As a responsible brand, Replenishh is committed to reducing the impact it has on the environment, trading in a more sustainable way and limiting the amount of waste it produces. Supported by our parent company Rapid Electronics, we are striving to do things differently and set a standard for sustainable practice that others can follow.
We are living up to this mission to make real, positive, and effective changes for our customers, ourselves and the environment. We are implementing new and innovative ways to reduce and recycle our waste through new packaging processes, and setting measurable targets and ambitions to reduce the environmental impact of Replenishh.
By doing so, we can help our customers to increase their own sustainability efforts, decrease their carbon footprint and make a difference to their bottom line by reducing expenses. That way everyone benefits and is ‘helping our planet make it’.
“Our purpose is to make sustainability a core part of our operational processes, become leaner, greener and more efficient and to really help make a difference.”
Jim Rugg, Head of Replenishh
From the time that we launched the brand in 2019, it has been one of the aims of Replenishh to pursue an environmentally sustainable business model. Over the last two years, Replenishh and its parent company Rapid have been making major strides in its approach to being more environmentally friendly and this culminated in Replenishh and Rapid being awarded the ISO 14001:2015 standard, setting requirements for our environmental management system. (View the certification here). Replenishh is very proud to be holders of this certification and continue to improve our environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction in waste.
Due to its properties, stiffness, strength, resistance to moisture, high density polyethylene material (HDPE) is a commonly recycled plastic and is the most environmentally stable of all plastics – giving off no harmful fumes into the environment. Manufacturing HDPE plastics requires only a fraction of the energy required to produce steel from iron ore, further contributing to its classification of being Eco-friendly.
Within the UK, best practices on the domestic and commercial recycling of films are continually being rolled out by local councils. For those who can't recycle plastic film at home/kerbside, most types of plastic films can be recycled at carrier bag collection points at the larger stores of most major supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, The Co-op and Waitrose.
There is also some useful information regarding the recycling of plastic films at www.recyclenow.com.
